An AI app builder that gives you a real Android app, not just a website
Many AI app builders make a website first. Here is how to compare them for a real Android app, with the trade-offs, and how BooDoo builds both a web app and an Android app.
If you run a small business, you probably want more than a web page. You want an app on your phone that your clients, your staff or your customers can open. That is a different question from "can an AI build me a website?", and the answer depends on the tool.
Why most AI builders stop at the web
Most AI app builders generate a web app first. It runs in a browser, and it looks good on a phone's screen. That is useful, but a browser app is not the same as an Android app that people install from Google Play.
To get a store app, some tools ask you to add a second step. Replit and Emergent, for example, can build apps with React Native and Expo, and they can publish to Google Play once you connect your own developer account. Others, such as Lovable and Bolt, mostly give you a web app, and you would need a wrapper or a separate tool to reach the Play Store. These paths work, but they assume you are comfortable with developer tools, and they can change as the vendors update their products.
What to look for
Ask each tool these four questions before you choose:
- Does it give me an Android app I can install, or only a web address?
- Does the app come with a database and sign-in, so my customers can have their own accounts?
- Where does the app go? Into my own Google Play account, or somewhere I have to set up myself?
- If a build fails because of the tool's own fault, am I still charged?
How BooDoo answers them
BooDoo is an app builder for small businesses. You describe the app in plain words, and it builds a web app and an Android app for you. Both come with sign-in, a database and hosting. Android apps can be published to Google Play from BooDoo. You do not need to write code, and you do not need to set up a React Native project yourself.
To see what finished apps look like before you start, visit the store at boodoo.ai/apps. It has ready-made business apps you can try and copy into your own workspace.
When another tool may be the better fit
If you are a developer who wants to write and own every line of code by hand, Replit is a strong choice, and its mobile path is well documented. If you want a quick website for a single page, a simple site builder may be enough. BooDoo is built for the case where a business needs a working app, with its own data, on the web and on a phone, and the owner would rather describe it than build it.
Start small
Describe the app your business needs in one sentence. For example: "A booking page for my salon where clients pick a stylist and a time." Look at the first version on your phone, then describe the changes you want. If you would rather have a person help, BooDoo Launch builds and launches the app with you.
