What changed
The things that got better, added here as we ship them. New, improved and fixed — plus a count of the work behind the scenes.
7–13 September 2026This week, so far
- Fixed
Your API key is now remembered after you enter it
Entering your API key used to save it, but the app kept asking for it again anyway. It now correctly remembers that you have already entered your key and stops asking.
- Fixed
UPI payment now works on discounted plans and packs
A first-purchase discount was quietly forcing card-only payment and blocking UPI for anyone eligible. Discounts now show up directly as a lower price instead of a separate coupon, so UPI stays available on every plan, pack and top-up.
- Fixed
Emailing us now works properly if you have no mail app set up
On an iPhone with no mail account configured, tapping to email us used to fail silently with no explanation. You will now always be shown a way to reach us if your phone cannot open a mail app.
- Fixed
Sleeping apps now show a proper waking-up page
If your app had gone idle and someone opened it, they used to sometimes see a blank technical error page instead of a friendly waking-up message. Now the waking-up page always shows while your app starts back up.
11 other changes — 5 to the platform, 4 to how apps are built, 1 to our own tools, 1 elsewhere. Nothing you would see.
31 August – 6 September 2026
Your apps now look more like genuine products with their own distinct identity, and you'll stay informed about payments and building progress.
- Fixed
Your app's name stays on screen while it is building
While your app was building, the chat screen replaced your app's name with a status message, so you could not see what you had named it. Your app's name now stays visible the whole time.
- Fixed
You'll now get an email if your payment didn't go through
If you started paying for a plan but the payment did not complete, BooDoo now sends you an email about it. This message was being wrongly held back before, so people who ran into trouble while paying were not being told.
- Fixed
Your app's design is no longer limited to a handful of looks
Before, every app's colours, type and style were drawn from only eleven fixed combinations, so two very different apps with a similar design direction could end up looking almost identical. Now each app's design is worked out from far more of its own details, so your app is much less likely to look like someone else's.
- Fixed
Your app now gets a proper tab icon and one consistent look
Every app used to open with a blank browser tab, and the colours, fonts and icons chosen for one part of your app were not being reused anywhere else. Newly built apps now show a real tab icon and keep one consistent design throughout.
31 other changes — 12 to how apps are built, 5 to the phone app, 4 to our own checks, 10 elsewhere. Nothing you would see.
24–30 August 2026
We fixed things that weren't working and made it easier to see what you're paying and access ready-made apps inside BooDoo.
- Fixed
Your welcome credit is now given only once, even after rejoining
Deleting your account and signing up again with the same details used to hand you the welcome credit every single time, no matter how many times you did it. That is fixed now, so the welcome credit is given once per person.
- Fixed
Your automatic discount now shows on the price before checkout
BooDoo was already applying a discount for first-time buyers, but plan prices never reflected it, so you saw full price until the payment screen. Plan prices now show the discounted amount upfront, so you know what you are paying before you get there.
- New
You're now told by email when your build is ready
If you use BooDoo on the web, you now get an email the moment your app finishes building, instead of no notice at all. This notice also now arrives reliably, since a bug that sometimes marked a working app as failed and stopped the message has been fixed.
- Fixed
You're no longer offered a database before it makes sense
BooDoo used to offer to connect a database based only on what your app contains, even when it wasn't a sensible moment to ask, sometimes before you had a working app at all. It now only makes this offer when the timing actually suits where you are in building your app.
- New
Ready-made apps are now available inside your workspace
The catalogue of ready-made apps used to live only on the public website, for people arriving from a search engine. It's now available inside BooDoo too, so if you're signed in you can turn any of them into your own app in one step instead of starting from a blank screen.
- Fixed
Your projects page no longer shows an error when you open it
For a few hours, opening your projects page while signed in could show an error message instead of your list of projects, even though nothing was actually wrong with your account or your apps. This has been fixed, so your projects page opens normally.
- Fixed
Builds and some published apps recovered after an outage
A technical fault stopped new builds from starting and made some already-published apps unreachable for several hours. Everything is now working normally again, and new builds are going through as usual.
- Fixed
Connecting your own domain to your app now actually works
If you pointed your own domain at BooDoo, the ownership check could pass while the connection itself was never finished, and the screen never told you anything was wrong. Custom domains now connect properly, so your app shows up where you expect it.
64 other changes — 27 to how apps are built, 13 to the platform, 6 to the workspace, 18 elsewhere. Nothing you would see.
17–23 August 2026
This week we made building your first app faster and fixed sign-in so you can see your finished app without delays or confusion.
- Fixed
Example prompts on your first screen are no longer cut off
The example ideas shown when you first open BooDoo used to stop mid-sentence on your phone. They now show in full, so you can read the whole idea before you start building.
- Fixed
Apps that sign in by username now come with a working demo login
If your app was set up to sign people in with a username instead of an email, BooDoo previously created no demo account at all, so there was no way to sign in and try it out. These apps now get a real seeded account, so you can sign in straight away.
- Fixed
Your first app now builds with fewer failed attempts
Building your first app used to run extra checks that could fail and send the whole build through a slow repair cycle, even when the checks that actually mattered had already passed. Your first build now moves through fewer of these detours, so it finishes faster and more reliably.
- Fixed
Your app's demo login now works even if it creates its own test accounts
Some apps create their own test accounts as part of being built. This used to clash with the demo account BooDoo sets up for you, so you couldn't sign in to check your app. That clash is fixed, so your demo login now works every time.
- New
Referral links can now give new sign-ups a different starting balance
You can share a referral link that gives whoever signs up through it a different starting balance from the usual one, and see which links brought people in. These links now work the same way whether someone opens them in a browser or in the phone app, even if the app needs to be installed first.
- Fixed
GitHub connection problems now show a clear message
If connecting your GitHub account did not fully complete, BooDoo used to fail without telling you, and any error was hidden somewhere you would never see. You are now shown clearly what went wrong.
- Fixed
BooDoo no longer asks how your app signs people in after building it
After your first build, a card in your workspace could still ask whether your app should sign people in with an email or a username, even though your first build had already decided this and built the sign-in screen to match. That repeat question is now gone, so you move straight to reviewing your finished app.
- Fixed
Your board no longer gets stuck behind one unfinished screen
Your project's board could freeze on a single sign-in screen that hadn't finished, even when twenty-one or more of your other screens were already done and ready to view. The board no longer waits on one screen like this, so you can see your finished screens straight away.
- New
You can now delete your account yourself
Closing your BooDoo account used to mean emailing support and waiting for them to do it for you. You can now delete your account yourself, right from your account settings, without waiting on anyone.
- Fixed
Your app preview no longer signs in as the wrong person
When previewing your app, BooDoo used to automatically sign you in as whichever account happened to be listed first, instead of the one you meant to test. Previews now show your app the way an actual visitor would see it, without picking a random account for you.
- Fixed
Your app's build status now shows in your own language
Even though BooDoo supports thirty-nine languages, the message telling you your app is building always appeared in English no matter what language you use. It now shows in whichever language your account is set to.
- New
Your app can now report installs from Meta ads
If you run Facebook or Instagram ads to get people to install your app, BooDoo can now pass along the information Meta needs to tell you which installs came from those ads. This works using a standard Android advertising identifier that matches installs to your campaigns.
31 other changes — 12 to how apps are built, 6 to the platform, 4 to our own checks, 9 elsewhere. Nothing you would see.
10–16 August 2026
Your apps now work on phones and web, your first app builds without extra steps, and the prices and previews we show you are all correct.
- Fixed
Your app's design preview now shows the real thing
The design preview used to show placeholder pictures, backup fonts, and every element crammed into the top-left corner. It now shows your app's actual content, the right fonts, and everything positioned properly.
- Fixed
Your app no longer breaks on phones or freezes on web screens
Some apps failed to open on phones with a page-not-found error, and several web screens could get stuck showing a loading spinner instead of the actual content. Both problems are fixed, so your app now opens properly on phone and web.
- Fixed
New workspace tools you couldn't open before now work
A width control, a findings panel, an export option, and a history comparison view had been added to your workspace but were impossible to open. All four are now reachable and working.
- Fixed
Your first app no longer stops early despite having credit
Building your first app could stop partway through, even when you still had credit left in your account. This no longer happens, so your first app now builds all the way through to a finished result.
- Fixed
Screen previews now show the actual screen, not a repeat
Your project's board could show the same login screen on every card, even though each card was meant to be a different screen in your app. Previews now show the real content of each screen. The label comparing an older version to your current one also changed, from 'Showing before this turn' to the clearer 'Showing the previous version'.
- New
Ask BooDoo to capture a screen again if it looks wrong
If a screen on your board came out wrong, you can now ask BooDoo to capture it again to get a better result. This wasn't something you could do before.
- Fixed
Boards now capture all your app's screens reliably
Some boards used to show only a handful of screens because capturing gave up too quickly, and a few boards could never be brought up to date no matter how often you asked. Both are fixed, so your board now fills out fully and updates properly when you ask it to.
- Fixed
Missing screens are now explained correctly, not blamed on errors
Your board used to show 'we couldn't open this screen' for screens it never even tried to load, and the panel explaining missing screens always blamed their size even when that wasn't the reason. Both now show what's actually happening.
- Improved
The design download option has been removed
You could once download your app's design as a file from the design page. That option is no longer available.
- Fixed
Successful payments no longer show as failed
Some payments went through and your card was charged, but BooDoo failed to add the credits and plan you paid for, showing a Payment Error message instead. This is now fixed, so a successful payment always reaches your account.
- Fixed
Prices are now correct in every currency
Some prices shown outside India were quietly wrong: dollar payments came out a bit cheaper than they should, euro payments a bit dearer. Every currency now shows the true price, matching what it costs in rupees.
- Improved
Your first app now arrives complete, without extra steps
Building your very first app used to happen in stages, with a plan, a partial first look, and a separate step to finish it. Your first app is now built whole from your very first prompt.
- Fixed
BooDoo no longer asks you to describe your app again
When you started a new project, BooDoo sometimes asked you to describe your app once more, even though it already had everything it needed. That unnecessary question is gone.
- Fixed
The build status panel now closes itself once your app is ready
A 'not done yet' message could linger on screen even after your app had finished building. It now waits for the build to truly finish, then tidies itself away.
- Fixed
Payment reminder emails now link straight to your plan
Some reminder emails about renewing sent you to your account page instead of the payment screen, with no plan or price shown. These emails now take you straight to the right page, with your plan and price clearly shown.
48 other changes — 16 to the platform, 13 to how apps are built, 8 to the workspace, 11 elsewhere. Nothing you would see.
3–9 August 2026
Building your app and managing your account are now clearer: builds show their progress, messages use plain language, and billing and cancellation details are upfront.
- Fixed
Reminder emails now land at a sensible time
Emails we send about your account used to arrive as if everyone lived in India, no matter where you actually are, and sometimes the same reminder went out more than once. Both are fixed, so you get one email, timed for you.
- New
Refund and cancellation terms are now easy to find
The details about refunds, cancelling anytime, and unused credits never expiring used to live on a page almost nobody visited. You'll now see them at checkout, on your account page, and when you run low on credit.
- Fixed
Checkout failures now say what actually happened
If a payment does not go through, BooDoo now tells you why: your card was declined, the connection dropped, or you simply closed the window. Before, you just saw a generic message either way.
- New
Your plan page now shows how to cancel and who is billing you
Before paying for a recurring plan, you can now see how to cancel, when a cancelled plan actually ends, and the name and GST details of who is billing you.
- Fixed
The app's look now changes with real sunset time
BooDoo's interface can shift to a golden evening mood as the sun sets where you are. This used to get stuck and never appear; it now changes correctly through the day, wherever you're based.
- Improved
BooDoo now explains things in plain language, not code terms
While building your app, BooDoo used to talk like an engineer, mentioning files and line numbers and defaulting to 'can't' rather than finding a way. It now explains things in plain terms anyone can follow.
- New
Add a mobile number after signing up, if you skipped it
In several countries, including the UK and the EU, a mobile number is no longer required to sign up. If you didn't add one, you can now add it afterwards from your account page.
- Fixed
Building now waits until you've answered its question
If BooDoo asked you a question while planning your app, pressing Build could go ahead on a guess before you'd replied. Building now waits for your actual answer first.
- Fixed
The build timer stays next to your chat
While your app is being built, the running timer now lives beside the conversation, not the page header, so you always know how long it's taking without hunting for it.
- New
Watch your app's structure build itself, piece by piece
While your first app is being built, you can now watch its screens and features appear one at a time, each sketched out as it's made, instead of staring at a blank 'being written' message.
- Fixed
Builds no longer get stuck repeating the same failure
If a build hit a snag before, it could get stuck retrying the exact same failed step over and over. That's fixed, so a stalled build now recovers properly instead of looping.
77 other changes — 28 to the phone app, 13 to the platform, 12 to how apps are built, 24 elsewhere. Nothing you would see.
27 July – 2 August 2026
Your apps now display correctly across all screen sizes, and phone apps connect automatically to your web app.
- Fixed
Fixed a wrong message saying your finished app was unchanged
If BooDoo reached its own capacity limit partway through a change but the change had already gone through, you would see a message saying nothing had changed. That message was wrong and is now fixed.
- Fixed
Your app's address bar no longer shows twice or disappears
The row showing your app's address, back button and pages now appears consistently at every screen size while you build. Before, it could be missing at some widths or shown twice.
- Fixed
Fixed overlapping tools in the app editor on narrower screens
On certain screen widths, especially while building a phone app, the toolbar and address bar could overlap and collide. This is now fixed so everything fits and scrolls properly.
- Improved
Phone apps now connect automatically to your web app
You no longer need to press a button to link your phone app to your web app's data and sign-in. When you ask for a phone app, BooDoo connects it for you as part of building it.
209 other changes — 55 to the phone app, 47 to the platform, 34 to how apps are built, 73 elsewhere. Nothing you would see.
20–26 July 2026
- Improved
We are now BooDoo, at boodoo.ai
Same product, same team, new name. Your app has moved from <name>.startnicely.com to <name>.boodoo.ai, and the old address redirects to the new one — existing links keep working, so there is nothing you need to change. You will need to sign in once more, because the sign-in is tied to the address.
