Booking page to cut paid WhatsApp replies
Meta now charges for some WhatsApp API replies. A booking or order page lets customers pick their own slot or items, so fewer messages go back and forth.
If your customers book or order by messaging you on WhatsApp, every reply now matters for cost. From 1 October 2026, Meta charges for some messages that businesses send through the WhatsApp Business Platform (the API). This guide explains what changed, why a booking or order page can cut down on those messages, and how to get one without writing code.
What Meta changed on 1 October 2026
Meta's pricing page for non-template messages says:
"Effective October 1, 2026, Meta will charge for service messages, which have not been charged since November 2024."
"Effective October 1, 2026, Meta will charge for utility messages sent in response to users within an open 24-hour customer service window."
This applies to the WhatsApp Business Platform (the API). It does not say anything about the free WhatsApp Business app. Rates depend on your country and on the type of message, so check Meta's pricing page for the numbers that apply to you.
Where the messages come from
A typical booking over chat goes like this. A customer asks if you have a free slot on Friday. You send the times. They pick one. You confirm. They ask to move it, and you send the times again. Then you send a reminder. Each of those is a message your business sends, and some of them are now charged.
Nothing about the job changes. The customer still wants a time, and you still need to confirm it. What changes is how many messages it takes to get there.
What a booking or order page does instead
A booking page is a page on your own web address. The customer sees the open times, or the menu, and chooses for themselves. You can still share the link on WhatsApp, so the choosing happens on the page instead of in a long chat.
For an order page, the idea is the same. The customer picks the items and sends the order in one go, so you do not have to type out the menu every time someone asks.
We cannot tell you how much this saves, because it depends on how many messages your customers send today. The best way to know is to count your messages for one week, then count them again after the page is live.
See one on the screen
Clinic Care is a live demo of a clinic app for a family clinic. Its calendar shows each doctor's day side by side, on one screen. The doctors and bookings in the demo are sample data, not real patients. You can open it on a phone and see how the day is laid out: Clinic Care in the BooDoo store. More clinic apps are in the clinic booking category.
How to get one with BooDoo
You describe the app in your own words. For example: "I run a dental clinic. Patients pick a doctor and a time from a page, and I want to see my whole day on one screen." BooDoo turns that into a real web app and an Android app, with sign-in, a database and hosting. You look at it, change what needs changing, and publish it. Then you share the link with your customers, on WhatsApp or anywhere else.
It is free to start. If you would rather have a person help you build and launch it, ask us about BooDoo Launch.
Questions people ask
Does this replace WhatsApp? No. You keep WhatsApp. The page gives your customer a place to choose, and WhatsApp is where you share the link.
What if something goes wrong while the app is being built? If the build fails because of our mistake, you are not charged for it.
Do I need to know how to code? No. You describe the app, and you can change it by describing the change.
