Who it's for

For the owner of a small driving school with one or two cars and a couple of instructors. The owner answers the WhatsApp messages, collects the money and still goes out on lessons when an instructor is sick. The problem bites on a Monday morning, when a student arrives for a lesson and nobody can say for sure whether the balance on their course was ever paid.

The problem today

Somebody messages me on WhatsApp asking how much for manual, and I type the price again from memory. Half of them never reply and I forget to follow up. The ones who register pay something small to start, then say they will complete it next week. I write the name and what they paid in the exercise book under the counter. By the time the course is finishing I am not sure if that one still owes or not. My instructor takes a student out, the student says he has paid, and I only find out later that he never completed. Chasing a balance after the licence is collected is hard work, and some of that money I just forget.

What the app does, screen by screen

  1. Ask for a price — A potential student on the website picks the course they want and how many lessons, leaves their name and WhatsApp number, so the owner has the request in one place instead of in a crowded chat.
  2. Quotes to send — The owner sees every price request, sets the amount and sends the quote, and can see which ones were accepted and which ones went quiet.
  3. My invoice — The student opens their own page to see the course they registered for, what they have paid so far, what is left, and pays the balance online if they want to.
  4. Student and balance — The instructor opens a student before taking them out and sees only whether the course is paid up, part paid or owing, with no access to the full money records.
  5. Who owes what — The owner sees one list of every student with a balance, oldest first, and sends a polite reminder to that student on WhatsApp from the same screen.
  6. Payments received — The owner records a cash or bank transfer payment against a student, and sees the online payments land in the same place, so one record answers every question about money.

Who uses it and what it keeps track of

  • Students — Name, WhatsApp number, course they registered for, manual or automatic, when they started, and which instructor is handling them. The owner sees everything. The instructor sees the name, the course and whether there is a balance. The student sees only their own record.
  • Quotes — What was asked for, the price the owner sent, the date it was sent, and whether the person accepted, declined or never answered. Owner only.
  • Invoices — The student, the course and total agreed, the deposit, what has been paid, what is left, and whether it is settled. Owner sees all of them. The student sees their own.
  • Payments received — Which student, how much, the date, and whether it came as cash, bank transfer or an online payment. Owner only.
  • Courses and packages — The name of each package, manual or automatic, how many lessons it covers and the standard price, so quotes do not have to be typed from memory. Owner edits, staff can view.

What it changes for the business

Nobody has to search the exercise book to know who owes. The owner can send a quote the same hour the person asks, which keeps the serious ones from drifting to the next school. Part payments stop getting lost, because the balance follows the student until it is cleared. Instructors stop taking people out on lessons that were never paid for. Reminders go out while the student is still coming for lessons, which is when they actually pay, so less money is left behind after the licence is collected.

The one decision that matters

Deposit before the first lesson, or let the student start and pay as they go. Pay as you go feels friendlier and fills the car faster, but it is exactly how balances get abandoned, and once the student has finished you have no hold on them. Take a deposit. Make the app treat a course as not started until the deposit is recorded, so the instructor screen shows plainly whether a student may go out. Keep the deposit modest and let the rest come in instalments, each one recorded against the invoice. You keep the goodwill and still keep the record.

What to build first, and what can wait

Build the price request form, the quote, the invoice with part payments, and the one screen of who owes what with a WhatsApp reminder button. That alone ends the exercbook guessing. Lesson timetables, instructor logins, attendance and a certificate at the end can wait. Recording cash and transfer payments by hand is fine at first. Add the online payment once students start asking for it, not before.

How BooDoo builds it

You describe the school, the courses and who should see what, in your own words, and BooDoo builds it. It builds the real backend behind it: the student records, and sign-in for you, your instructors and your students, each landing on a different screen. The same request gives you a website on its own live address, and an Android app you can publish to Google Play under your own account. Your own domain can be connected. Online payments and a WhatsApp button to the school are added when you need them, and you change anything later by describing the change.

How you'll know it works

On a Friday evening the owner opens one screen and reads out who still owes, without touching the exercise book, and no instructor has to ring to ask whether a student is cleared to go out.

Build it

Paste this in and it gets built.

I run a small driving school with two instructors. People message me on WhatsApp asking my price, so I want a form on my website where somebody picks manual or automatic and how many lessons, leaves their name and WhatsApp number, and I send them a quote from my phone. When they accept it should become an invoice showing the deposit, what they have paid and what is left. I want to record cash and transfer payments myself, and let students pay the balance online. My instructors should log in and only see whether a student is paid up before taking them out. I want one screen listing everybody who owes me, oldest first, with a button to send them a polite reminder on WhatsApp. Give me the website and an Android app for my own phone.

Paste that request and it gets built, with a real database, sign-in and a phone app. You can change anything afterwards.
