Who it's for
You shoot weddings and events, with a second shooter and an editor who works from home. In season you are on a mehndi one night and a barat the next, with a product shoot for a clothing brand squeezed in between. The bookings come on WhatsApp. The money comes in pieces, some advance before the shoot, some on the day, the rest whenever the family remembers. The problem bites when the season ends and you sit down to work out who still owes you.
The problem today
Right now the quote is a voice note or a photo of a page from my diary. The advance comes on Easypaisa, the rest by bank transfer or cash in hand at the walima. I note it in my phone, or I do not note it at all. Two months later I cannot tell you which client has cleared and which one is sitting on the balance. Asking feels awkward because I am not sure of the figure myself, so I let it go. The editor is waiting for his payment, the album order is stuck, and I am chasing old money instead of booking new shoots.
What the app does, screen by screen
- Quote builder — The owner picks the shoot type, the number of days and what is included, and sends the client a clean quote in a minute.
- Client page — The client opens a link to see their quote, their shoot dates, what they have already paid and what is still due.
- Invoice and payment entry — The owner or the studio manager turns an accepted quote into an invoice and records each payment as it arrives, cash, Easypaisa or bank transfer.
- Who owes what — The owner sees every client with a balance, oldest first, so one look tells him where the money is stuck.
- Reminders — The owner sends a polite reminder with the exact balance, or opens a WhatsApp chat with the client straight from the invoice.
- Shoot calendar — The owner and the second shooter see which dates are booked and which shoots have been delivered but not paid.
Who uses it and what it keeps track of
- Clients — Name, phone, city, how they found you, and the family or brand they belong to. The owner and the studio manager see this. Each client only sees their own page.
- Shoots — Date, type of shoot, venue, which team members are going, and whether the photos have been delivered. The owner and the team see this.
- Quotes and invoices — What is included, the total agreed, the advance asked for, the date sent, and whether the client accepted. The owner and the studio manager see all of them. The client sees their own.
- Payments received — Amount, date, how it came in, who recorded it, and the balance left after it. The owner sees every entry and who entered it.
What it changes for the business
You stop guessing. The quote goes out the same evening the client calls, while they are still deciding, instead of three days later. Every rupee that comes in is written against the right shoot by the person who took it. When you ask for a balance you are asking for an exact figure, so the message is easy to send and easy for the client to pay. Old balances surface instead of quietly disappearing. And when the season ends you already know what is outstanding, so you are chasing payments while they are fresh, not months cold.
The one decision that matters
The real decision is whether your invoices are built from a fixed package list or written free hand each time. Free hand feels right because every wedding is different, but it means you rewrite the same thing all season and your prices drift between clients. Fixed packages with a line you can add or remove is the better way. Set up your usual shoot types once, pick one, adjust what this family wants, and send it. The quote goes out in a minute, your pricing stays consistent, and the totals add up correctly every time because the app does the arithmetic, not you at two in the morning.
What to build first, and what can wait
Build quotes, invoices, recorded payments and the who-owes-what view first. That is the whole problem. The shoot calendar can come next, once you trust the money side. Leave album and print orders, editor payouts, contracts and expense tracking for later. If you try to run the entire studio from day one you will not enter the payments, and an invoice app with missing payments is worse than the diary.
How BooDoo builds it
You describe the studio and the way you quote in plain words, and BooDoo builds it. You get a real backend with sign-in, so you, your studio manager and your clients each open the app and see different screens. The same request gives you a website on a live address, which you can put on your own domain, and an Android app you can publish to Google Play under your own account if you want one. WhatsApp buttons open a chat with the client from the invoice. Later, when you want album orders added, you just describe the change.
How you'll know it works
You open one screen and read out exactly what each client owes, without opening your diary, your bank app or your WhatsApp. And the balances on that screen keep getting shorter, because you are asking while the shoot is still fresh in the family's mind.
Build it
Paste this in and it gets built.
I am a wedding and event photographer in Lahore. I want a website, and an Android app later, where I can save my clients with their phone numbers and shoot dates, pick from my usual packages like mehndi, barat, walima and full wedding, and send a client a quote the same day they call. When they agree I turn it into an invoice with the advance and the balance shown clearly. I record every payment that comes in, whether it is cash, Easypaisa or bank transfer, and the balance updates itself. I need one screen that shows every client who still owes me money with the oldest first, and a WhatsApp button on each invoice so I can send a polite reminder with the exact amount. My studio manager should be able to enter payments but not change my prices, and each client should see only their own quote and balance.
Paste that request and it gets built, with a real database, sign-in and a phone app. You can change anything afterwards.
