See which members are active and who has not returned for months, so you can call them.

Memberships and check-ins · Salon or barbershop · the Philippines

See which members are active and who has not returned for months, so you can call them.

Who it's for

A salon or barbershop along a busy street, with three or four staff and a notebook at the front desk. The owner still cuts hair or does nails, so the counter is often left alone. Memberships were sold because the suki asked for a package deal. The problem bites on a slow Wednesday, when the owner looks at the empty chairs and cannot say which regulars stopped coming, or when.

The problem today

Right now a membership is a card in an envelope under the counter. When a member comes in, whoever is free writes the date on the card. If they forget the card, we just trust them. Renewals are in a notebook and some are sitting in my Messenger chats. I cannot tell you who is still active and who finished their package months ago. The ones who quietly stopped coming, I only notice when I see them with a haircut from somewhere else. By then it is too late to call.

What the app does, screen by screen

  1. Join a membership (customer) — Lets a walk-in pick a package on their own phone, enter their mobile number and pay to become a member.
  2. My membership card (customer) — Shows the member their package, the visits they have left and the date it ends, so there is no argument at the counter.
  3. Check in a member (staff) — Lets the front desk find a member by name or mobile number, confirm the membership is still active, and record the visit and the service done.
  4. Members list (owner) — Puts every member in one place with their package and status, with the ones ending soon on top.
  5. Who has stopped coming (owner) — Lists the members who have not checked in for months, with a button to call them or open a chat.
  6. Renewals and payments (owner) — Shows which renewals came in, who paid at the counter, and whose package is already finished.

Who uses it and what it keeps track of

  • Members — Name, mobile number, package, date joined, date it ends, usual service, the staff they always ask for, and notes. Staff and the owner see this. A member sees only their own.
  • Packages — The name of each package, what it covers, how many visits it gives, how long it runs, and the price. The owner sets these. Customers see them when they join.
  • Visits — Every check-in with the date, the service, which staff did it and which member it was for. Staff add these. The owner sees all of them, the member sees their own history.
  • Renewals and payments — Date, package bought, amount, whether it was paid in the app or at the counter, and who recorded it. The owner sees everything. Staff only see that it was paid.

What it changes for the business

The counter stops guessing. Staff can tell in seconds whether a membership is still good, so nobody gets a service for free by mistake and no member gets turned away wrongly. The owner has a call list instead of a feeling. Members who have not come back for months sit on one screen, and a call or a chat brings some of them in. Renewals get followed up before they lapse, not after. And when a customer asks what their package still covers, the answer is on their own phone.

The one decision that matters

The decision that matters is what a membership actually gives. Unlimited visits for a month is easy to sell and easy to understand. It is also how salons quietly lose money, because a few heavy users come every week while the rest stay home, and your staff carry the cost. The other way is a fixed number of visits that end on a date. Go with the fixed number. It counts cleanly in the app, so the member's card and the front desk always agree, and it gives you an honest reason to call: you still have visits left and they end this month. That call is the whole point of this app.

What to build first, and what can wait

Build joining, the membership card, check-in at the counter, and the three owner lists: active, ending soon, not seen in months. That is already the whole job. Online payment can wait if most members pay at the counter, as long as staff can mark a renewal as paid. Automatic reminders, staff commissions, booking a slot and points for non-members can all come later. Get people checking in properly first, because without clean check-ins every list is a lie.

How BooDoo builds it

You describe the salon and your packages in plain words and BooDoo builds it. You get a real database and sign-in behind it, with the owner, the front desk staff and the members each seeing their own screens. The same request gives a website on its own live address for you and an Android app you can publish on Google Play under your own account, with your own domain connected later. Payments and messaging come through ready integrations when you need them, plus a chat button that opens a conversation with the shop. When your packages change, you describe the change.

How you'll know it works

A month in, open the list of members who have not come in and look at the names you called that are now back in the chair. Then look at the counter: nobody is flipping through an envelope of cards or shouting to ask whether this one is still paid up.

Build it

Paste this in and it gets built.

I run a salon with three staff and I sell membership packages. I want an app where a customer can join on their phone, pick a package, pay by GCash or card, and get a membership card showing the visits left and the date it ends. At the front desk my staff should search a member by name or mobile number, see straight away if the membership is still active, then record the visit and the service done. I want my own screens that show who is active, whose package is ending this month, and who has not come in for three months, with a way to call or message them. Keep every visit and every renewal so I know who my real regulars are. Website for me and my staff, Android app for the customers.

Paste that request and it gets built, with a real database, sign-in and a phone app. You can change anything afterwards.
