A live app that can take payments, in four weeks, without code
A four-week, no-code plan to get a real app live and ready to take payments, with the honest limits on today's payment setup — written for anyone working toward a deadline like the World's Biggest Business Competition's build window.
If you've got four weeks to get a real product in front of customers and taking money, the plan below is the plain version: what to build each week, and what's actually true about payments today, not the marketing version of it.
This matters right now because of the World's Biggest Business Competition (build window 24 October to 20 November), which judges entrants on products taking real payments. BooDoo isn't a partner or sponsor of that competition, and we don't speak for its prizes — this is just a timeline that fits the window, for anyone building toward it or any deadline like it.
Week 1: describe the app, get the first version
Write down what your business actually does, in your own words: who the customer is, what they're paying for, what they see before and after paying. Describe that to BooDoo and you get a real web app back the same day — not a mockup, an app with pages that work.
Week 2: sign-in and data
Add who can sign in (customers, staff, you) and what gets stored: orders, bookings, customers, whatever your business runs on. This is also when to use sample data labelled as sample, so you can see the app working before any real customer touches it.
Week 3: payments, with the real limits
Here's the honest part. Your BooDoo app can connect to your own account with Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal, or one of several other providers, depending on your country. You set up that account yourself, with the provider, and the money goes straight to you — BooDoo never holds it or sees your keys again once you've entered them.
Two things to know before you plan around this:
- Test it on your live web address before you rely on it. Connect your provider in test mode, run one payment through it yourself, and check the money shows up where you expect.
- Treat it as a web feature until you've checked otherwise. We haven't verified payment providers working inside the Android build of a customer app, so don't plan a phone-only payment flow around it for a tight deadline — put the paid step on the web app.
Week 4: publish, and get your first paying customer
Publish to your own address. If you want an Android app too, it goes out under your own Google Play account, not BooDoo's. Then send it to the smallest group of real people who'd actually pay — five people you know need this beats a hundred strangers who don't.
A live example
InvoiceDesk is a real BooDoo app built the same way: it tracks invoices, who's paid and who's late, and reminders. It's a good look at how a BooDoo app handles money-related records even before you've connected your own payment provider.
